THE MIDLANDS
ASSOCIATION FORMED
Arising out of a letter appearing in "The Post" some weeks ago, a meeting was held on Saturday evening at which! a Birmingham and Midland Counties Association of Wellington and District was formed.
The aim of the association is to promote goodfellowship amongst members. The association is to keep in mind the traditions of the old home town and districts and its duty as citizens of Wellington and New Zealand generally. On their return to New Zealand, the Hon. W. Nash (Minister of Finance) and Mrs. Nash are to be asked to be patrons of the association. The following were elected officers of the association pro tern:—President, Mr. J. H. Whittaker; hon. secretary, Mr. W. H. Douglas; treasurer, Mrs. Waite; .committee, Miss . Marsh, Mesdames Glover, Levin, Bruce, Coates, and Mr. Bruce.
It is intended to hold another meeting at an early date.
