SHOW OF CAGE BIRDS
' The last of a series of table shows was held by the Wellington Canary and Cage Bird Club on Saturday. Tne: birds were benched ok Friday evening and judged next morning, arid in the afternoon there was a large gathering of interested fanciers. There were over sixty entries. Mr. .Pullen judged, the canaries' arid Mr. Sowman the bud-, gerigars and finches. Some beautiful birds were shown, and there is a good prospect of a wonderful exhibition at the annual show. The following are the results:—Yorkshire canaries: Clear, ticked, and yellow: . Mr. Saunders, 1; Mr Bailey, ?; Mr. Able, 3. Lightly variegated, yellow: Mr., Able, l;Mr. Saunders. 2 and 3. Buffs: : Mr. Able, !• Mrs. Lennox( 2; Mr. Saunders, 3; Cinnamons: Mrs. Lennox, 1; Mrs. McLean. 2; Mr. Bailey, 3. Norwich, yellow: Mr. Matson, 1; Mr. Froon, 2; Mr. Sparks, 3. Norwich, t»n!: Mr. Han-; sard, 1; Mr. Burt, 2; Mr. Matson, 3. Budgerigars, green: Mr. Monks, 1; Mr. W. Elliott; 2;- Mr. R. Elliott, 3. Any other colour: Mr. R. W. Gilland, 1; Mr, E Monks, 2; Mr. R. Elliott, 3. Cobalt, sky blue: Mr. R. Elliott, 1; Mr. Sparks, 2; Mi. Morris, 3. Whites: Mr. Sparks', 1; Mrs. Gilliand, 2; Mr. Monks, 3. Goldfinch: Mr. Burt, 1. Mule: Mrs. McLean, 1. Mr. Matson won the cup for the best Norwich canary and Mr. Froon was runner-up. The cup for the best Yorkshire canary was won by Mr. Saunders, with Mr. Bailey runner-up. In the budgerigars Mr. R. Elliott showed the best bird, a beautiful cobalt, and Mr. Monks was runner-up with a green. ,
