PIGEON CLUBS
The Wellington Homing Pigeon ■Society continued its series of weekly shows on Saturday night in the clubroom, Newtown Avenue. The class was for young cocks, and a large entry of '40 birds was judged by. Mr. E. ODea, whose decisions were well received by the large, attendance of fanciers. A special ■ prize of 10s 6d,----given, by Mr*-,O'Dea, also went to the winners. There was on- exhibition a pair of pigeons bred by. Mr. T..Sherwood from a .double-yolked egg, and these freaks of nature created much interest. Both pjgeons are quite' normal, and can be seen at their .owner's loft by' arrangement. The following were the placings in the show:—F. Couper and Son, 1 and special; Dickey Bros., 2; Collins and Day, 3; Heyward and Hoare, v.h.c, 4; Collins and Day, h.c, 5; C. Boxall, c, 6. The next show, on Saturday night, is for young hens, to be judged by Mr. W; Abraham, of Petone. ■ '■-■-■■■ - ,'■• ■■■ .".
