An enjoyable evening was spent by the V.M.C.A. Debating Club last night, when a debate on the subject "That the Legislative Council Should be Abolished" was held between two teams. The affirmative was taken by Messrs. Stubbs (leader), Carson, and Hutton, and the negative by Messrs. Spratt, O'Brien, and Just. The negative side was declared the winners by the adjudicator, Mr. Greenberg.
