THE NEW HEBRIDES

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

LONDON, April 2. While the future of the New Hebrides Condominium will be discussed at the Imperial Conference, it seems very difficult to arrive at a satisfactory solution of the unsatisfactory situation. Britain is determined to conserve to the full her rights and interests and not to accept any alteration in-her present status, though the very friendly relations with her French partners will be maintained. '

It is known that France will never accept any proposal to sell out or cxl change her holding so that Britain might hand over the islands to , Australian control.

The French have an advantage over the British, in the use of cheap imported coolie labour.
