SOME RECENT MEETINGS

Hose of Wellington Rebekah Lodge —Sis. Hooper, N.G., presided over a good attendance. Several members were reported still on the sick list. The election of officers for the ensuing term was taken. Bro. Mathers, D.D.G.M., and Bro. Churchill, L.T.R.P., were visitors, and also Sis. Cotton, of Welcome Rebekah Lodge, Nelson. Arrangements for the 13th anniversary of the lodge were made, and also for the installation,of officers and a dance. Sis. Cotton, Bro. 'Mathers, and Bro. Churchill replied to • the welcome. Lodge routine concluded, members went into harmony. Esther Rebekah Lodge.—Sis. Dearden, N.G., presided over a fair attendance. Quarterly accounts were passed for payment. The secretary read the quarterly financial status of the lodge,/which was adopted. Visitors present included members of Victoria, Rahiri, Rose of Wellington, and Hiwa Rebekah Lodges. Official visitors were. Sis. Torkington, L.D.D.G.M., and staff, and Bro. Geo. Rudkin, D.G.M. • The following officers were installed:-~N.G., Sis.-Brammall; V.G., Sister M.'Turner; R.S., Sister E. Rout; F.S., Sister L. Hooper; treasure!*, Sister A. McKearid; warden, Sister M. Bennetts; conductor, Sister A. McKeand; chaplain, Sister J. Keating; R.S.N.G., Sister M. Sergent; L.S.N.G., Sister A: McKinnon; R.S.V.G., Sister N. Sergent; L.S.V.G., Sister A. Parry; 1.G., Sister J. Frost. Votes of welcome were accorded visitors, to which Bro. Geo. Rudkin replied, conveying fraternal greetings from the Grand Lodge executive and also from the Dominion's Friendly . Societies' Council; Sisters Torkington, L.D.D.G.M., Palmer, H. Johnson, Quayle,'and Hooper replied to the vote of welcome. Sis.' Dearden thanked members, for their support during her term of office, and Sis. Brammall thanked sisters for elevating her to the N.G.s chair. Sis. TGrkihgton presented Sis. Rout with a P.N.G.'s certificate. , Bro. Rudkin referred to Sis. Parry's work as secretary, and expressed sorrow on hearing that she did riot wish to accept office again. Sis. Jones also mentioned the lengthy period in which Sis. Parry had been associated with the lodge. The esteem and appreciation of members was recognised by Sis. Sergent asking Sis. Parry to accept a fountain pen and pencil set from members. Sis. Parry said she was deeply indebted to members for their-gift, which would always be a reminder of their happy association. *
