The first bogey round for the Macarthy trophy oh the Hutt links on Saturday saw C. G: Porter (16) and P. Ellerm (10) do best, both finishing 3 up. Next came W. G. Home (scr), 2 up; P. I. Saunders (6), R. G.1 Gower (13), and F. Kember (2), 1 up; I. A. Ewen (2), C. N. Armstrong (2), G. S. Berry (5), and K. E. Leighton (8), all square.
A Stableford competition yesterday morning was won by R. D. Wraight with 29, 7—36. The next performers were F. McLean, 20, 15—35; R. Chandler, 29, 5—34; and J.B. Trayes, 19, 11— 30. • '■
A fourball best-ball event yesterday afternoon was won by C. G. Porter (12) and N. A. Clouston (10), with 6 up. P. J. R. Fordham (11) and S. Taylor (5) we.re 5 up.
