PARENTS' ASSOCIATION
The Ladies' Auxiliary of the Wellington Girls' College Parents' Association held their first meeting recently in the Assembly Hall at the college as a welcome to parents who joined the association at the beginning of the school year. The president (Mrs. Lewis), on behalf o£ the Old members of the auxiliary, presented Mrs. Urquhart (retiring president) with a beautiful handbag as a token of their regard. , Mrs. Urquhart replied,' thanking the parents for their appreciation and help'in the past two years.
Mrs. Lewis, in a short speech of welcome to the new parents, made- a special appeal to all members to endeavour to increase the membership to make it thoroughly representative of all parents.
Miss Greig and the school staff joined the parents, and afternoon tea was served. The rest of the afternoon was spent very pleasantly together in renewing jld friendships and making new acquaintances among the new parents and newly-joined members of staff.
To prevent jelly from forming in a flummery, leave the mixture till nearly set before beating to the consistency of thick cream.

Adams. . , Rowing Club Dance. A warm evening encouraged a large j attendance at a-, dance held in" the pavilion of the Petone : Rowing Club on the Petone Esplanade. The open. balcony proved a popular place be-' tween dances, being used in preference i to the warmer club room. The committee comprised Messrs. A. E. Jones, < T. Watson, G. Leopard, L. Boyd, D. Bosswill, H. Nuttall, and H. Barroclough. Supper arrangements were in the capable hands of two ladies of the social committee, Mrs. Watson (who was wearing navy blue and white), and Mrs. Lind (in black ring velvet). Good music was provided by McLoughlin's Ladies' .Orchestra.
