LOCAL SIDE'S VICTORY

Hospital met Scottish Wanderers in a friendly encounter at Porirua on Saturday and took the opportunity of introducing S. Jarvis, Wyrill and Caldwell in the forwards, whilst Upchurch, the ex-Diamond utility player, was at left half. After gaining a 1-0 lead at half-time, Hospital went on to win decisively by 7-2.-

The teams were:— Hospital.—Wyatt; Todd and Miles; J. Woods, Jeffery, Unchurch; S. Jarvis, Stanbridge, Wyrill, Caldftvell, and W. Woods. Scottish Wanderers—Cuthbert; Jordan and Fleming; Sutton, Campbell, and .Murray; Coyeney, Casey, Gray, Shipton, and Phillips. Referee. —Mr. A. Gibb. , At the outset Wanderers set a hot gace and kept Wyatt on the gui vive. tospital' retaliated through W. In the second spell Hospital had W. Woods centre-forward and J. Woods outside right. The former put his side ahead within.a few minutes. Wanderers now staged a determined rally, good goals by Gray and Phillips putting them on even terms. Jeffery then connected with a pile-driver and Hospital, regaining the lead, had matters their own way. Stanbridge, W. Woods, and J.
