ON PLEASURE CRUISE

Just before midnight the Belgian liner Anversville (8433 tons), carrying 170 passengers for a pleasure cruise, went ashore on the Dungeness-Bank, and, although some anxiety for her safety was felt throughout the night, she was refloated in a dense fog at 9.15 a.m. today, two hours before high tide. The Dungeness lifeboat stood by during the night. and rocket life-saving crews on land were held in readiness should, an. emergency arise, but the weather was fine'and the sea smooth.
The vessel was aground on shingle and she was towed, into deep water by three British and Dutch tug. The passengers remained calm throughout.
