Schroder writes' informatively, and two colour plates and a number of black and white reproductions illustrate the art of these two.Christchurch painters. The current exhibition 'of Chinese art at present being held inthe Dominion Museum is also,the subject of an article with illustrations. "Understanding" is the title of: an excellent prize-winning short story, by E. D. ,M. Doust. It deals with the attempt' and consequences of Government officials trying to buy Maori land which "did riot want to be sold." J. W. Dickson writes interestingly on "Braque As. I Knew Him," and A. L. Lloyd discourses on "What is Happening to Art?" Verse is contributed by Francis Howard Harris and Marie Conlan, , and v -a
