ROSETTE QUILTS
ATTRACTIVE AND LIGHT

■■"'•To"make a rosette, first of all cut out a circular piece: of cardboard, five inches'in'diameter;:arid a similar piece of brown'paper. Then, using the cardboard, as a pattern, cut out..a circle of material, allowing an eighth^ of an inch turning all round/ Tack the circle of. paper-firmly to the circle of material 'and. then whip the : edge of the material, tearing away the; paper before drawing up, the v whipping.l When the' whipping. ha"s been' drawn up .tightly and the thread fastened off securely the rosette should be ;like, a little flattened circular 'bag with, the gathered top uppermost, ; The:rosettes are all made in.; this;■ way., :\ : •' ■ ;
To make, up the. quilt have the lin T ing the exact size and ne^jy hemmed all round.- Then lay it/flac' on.a table with "the right side.uppermost and place the rosettesoh it so that; they all touch . one T another, but lie. perfectly flat' They are-then secured ■to the lining by sewing .'a\small; button over the centre: of reach,rosette," arid.to each other with a-few/neat 'stitches where they,touch.
