.MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The management, committee' of the Wellington : Lawn Tennis.;' Association "met last night, Mr. A. M.. Pinkerton presiding. > _'■;■. ..;■ .' ..Arrangements .were made .for .; the' champion of champions '*. tournament this afternoon and tomorrow. The newly organised Umpires'- Association was appointed to: control -the umpiring of the tournament. The Wellesley Club -will manage the champion 'of champions dance to be held this evening in the^.Kelburn Kiosk.' .'"■..- ■ A report, on the Easter tournament was received and discussed. The secretary, Mr. A. G. W; Mantell-Harding, .warmly upraised the w.orK of the Umpires'. Association during, the Easter tournament. '■; The, association, he said, had worked exceptionally "well, and had greatly facilitated the management of'the'tournament.-''■■■■.•^"■'■"■VV ■ Mr. Pinkerton also praised the/work of a member of the association, Mr. W. Sterlings in connection with the "New Zealand junior tournament. , It was resolved to convey the appreciation of the : management committee to the Umpires' Association "for its' wonderful, work during the Easter tournament;"' ■
The Inter-club committee was congratulated upon having virtually, completed interrclub matches despite an early Easter and. the; vagaries- of the weather;" '■ '■'■;■■■■ ■■.-••• ■'• ■••■••• •'- ■-.
It was announced that the Johnsonville Club'had won the A and B grade inter-club competition of the Northern Sub-association. . .. : . ; . , The Wimbledon Tennis Club was admitted to affiliation with the Wellington Association. ■. . ~
