A" deputation, -introduced by Mr.,'W. Wbrsley, appeared before the board and sought. affiliation for a new club. One of the speakers,' Mr. Palmer, said that, although the organising of the club was well in hand, he thought that for the coming- season the club, which . would ber called Newtown District Rugby, League Football Club, would only enter the junior grades. Subject to conditions relating to club control, the board approved of the club's affiliation and the members, of the deputation were thanked for^ their interest in the'game. '

The secretary reported that novadvice had been received from, the City Council regarding playing grounds available for the coming season. It was decided to tender again for the Randwick school.ground. ..--.''

It was agreed that clubs be'advised that the use of a standard 'Rugby,. League football wouid be insisted upon this year. It y/as pointed out that last season the use of two different footballs, League arid Union, was common in a club match.

Mr. George O'Leary reported that he had received notice of his transfer to Gisborne, and would be leaving Wellington early next week. Mr. Holland paid tribute to the splendid service Mr. O'Leary had given the Rugby League game in Wellington and to the efficient manner in which he had carried out his secretarial duties. Mr. O'Leary had proved himself a true sportsman. ■In reply Mr. O'Leary said that he thought Rugby League a great game, and he had merely followed his' mind and found pleasure in assisting the game.

Mr. E. J. Elliott, who has been closely associated with the secretary in his duties, was appointed acting secretary. '.'.'.,.
