LONDON, February 27,

The violent decline in the markets appears to have worked itself out. After a day which rivalled the traditional "Black Monday," dealers took fresh heart, buying on a broad siale.

Heavy buying of the base, metals continued throughout the week. After an early reaction, gilt-edged improved as a result of the Chancellor of the Exchequer's reassurances. Buying has also extended to better class industrials.
