PROFESSIONAL GOLF
TOURNEY AT DANNEVIRKE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, February ,26. A feature of the afternoon play in the professional golf tournament today was a remarkable round by the local professional, A. Guy, his figure of 08 being five below par. He secured, two eagles and five birdies, and did four holes in two. .His card read:—Out: 253463243—32; in: 456542325—36; total 68. Though he took three putts, on two greens, he was putting very well. His chip shots were first-class, and his driving hard and straight, better than in the morning.' The following professionals are playing steady golf: J. D. Mclntosh, C. C. Clements, J. Lambie, T.S. Galloway, and A. Guy. If Guy can. keep direction he 'will be in the money. Mclntosh is driving very well, but numerous putts are lipping the hole. Clements is playing first-class golf, but the greens are considerably slower and less smooth than in the-South Island. A. J.
