PROPOSAL BY SEN. BORAH

(Received February 27, 9.30 a.m.)

WASHINGTON, February 26.

Senator Borah introduced a pro posal for a constitutional amendment to redefine the Fourteenth Amendment to the • Constitution containing the so-called "due process," close interpretation, of which by the Supreme Court for half a century has resulted in' the invalidation of much legislation, both State and' Federal,' which attempted to deal - with economic and social problems, on the'ground. • that; such laws deprived citizens' of life, liberty, and property without due process at i law.
