A message from Palm Springs, Calk-, fornia, states that Humphrey Pear« son, 40, a widely-known film writer, was found shot dead in bed at his desert cottage at Santa Monica. A,' sheriff found his wife hysterical in tha same bed. as the corpse, unable to give a clear account of events preceding theltragedy.
