SUBMARINE FLEET
RUSSIA'S STRENGTH
LONDON, February 26.
The "Daily Telegraph's" naval correspondent says that Russia is now believed to possess the largest submarine fleet in the world, namely, 130, of which 40 are in the North Pacific, based at Vladivostock, and 90 in the Baltic. Most of the Russian submarines are small and not designed for ocean cruising. Nevertheless, they would be formidable enough for operations in either the Baltic or the Sea of Japan.
