BRITISH OFFER

LOAN FOR SHIPPING

NO DOMINIONS REPLY

PACIFIC SERVICES

UnlteH Press Association—By Electric TeleBra vh— Copyright. (Received February 27, noon.) LONDON, February 26. The Australian Associated Press Agency is informed that no Dominion has replied to proposals made by the British Government arising out of the Imperial Shipping Committee's, report whereby it is understood Britain is ready to guarantee a loan, with the Dominions' co-operation, for building a new liner for the SydneyVancouver service, reconstructing the Aorangi and the Niagara, building a new liner for service between Vancouver and Tokio, and reconstructing existing vessels. The Dominions desired a British loan to build two new liners for the Sydney-Vancouver run, but Britain regards one hew liner as sufficient, at least until experience has been gained with a reorganised service.

The fact that some weeks have elapsed since the proposals reached the Dominions has created the impression here that the Dominions are disappointed.
