Of considerable interest arid value to local bodies is the, book, shortly, to be published, by, Messrs., C. L. . Bishop, Town Clerk and general manager of the Eastbourne Borough Coiiricili and Arthur 'Lees, Town Clerk of the1. One Tree Hill' Borough Council, Auckland, on local authority finance, accounts, and administration. _, Messrs. Bishop and Lees were placed first, equal in a competition organised by the New Zealand Society of Accountants- for a thesis on the above subject, and the two e^/'.ts were of such a high order that the society considered they should be incorporated in a book.
