METEOROLOGICAL
SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS.
A shallow depression which had been located for some time west of the Dominion has practically filled up and pressure Is now fairly high over the New Zealand are* though relatively low to the south. Light to moderate north-east or northerly winds have predominated and the weather has been mostly cloudy to overcast and. in places misty or foggy at times. Scattered and mainly light rain has fallen in most districts but a fevr further heavy downpours hare occurred in districts sur^ rounding Cook Strait. This morning it was still rather unsettled but conditions appeared to be improving in many/ parts of the country.
FORECAST
Winds.—Variable with north-easterlies or northerlies predominating. Barometer.—Little movement.
Seas. —Slight to moderate. Weather.—A temporary improvement probable In most places but conditions rather unsettled with rain at times In many places, more especially those -with a westerly aspect. Temperatures warm.
