AUSTRALIAN TOUR I
Under instructions from the secretary of the Empire Art Loan Committee, London, the Empire art loan collection of British paintings now on exhibition at the National Art Gallery, will be packed up at the end of the month and sent to Sydney. The paint; ings will be on exhibition in Wellington until August 29.
It was understood that the collection would be forwarded to other cities in the Dominion before it was sent out of New Zealand, but definite instructions as to its itinerary have now been received by the' secretary of the board of trustees, Mr. F. H. Bass. The collection will return to the Dominion next year.
The paintings will leave Wellington on September 7 and will be shown in Sydney fr6m September 19 to October 19. They will then go to Melbourne, where they will be exhibited from November 9 to December 9; Adelaide is to have the collection from December 30 until January 30, 1937, Brisbane from February 23 to March 23. and Hobart from April 25 to May 25. The paintings will then be returned to New Zealand, and will be exhibited in Auckland from July 7 to August 7. They will be shown at Wanganui from August 28 to September 28, at Christchurch from October 25 to November 25, and at Dunedin from December 15 to January 15, 1938. On January 30, 1938, the paintings will leave Dunedin for London.
