NEW ZEALAND ANTHEM
(To the" Editor.)
Sir, —I quite agree with your correspondent's *on the advisability of giving more prominence to the New Zealand Anthem. Some time ago the New Zealand Anthem was sung in some of our schools, but now it is seldom taught to the pupils. Perhaps this is because so little prominence is given to our New Zealand Hymn at public gatherings. As most schools hold a' weekly assembly, it would be an easy matter for the pupils to be taught this song, and the Education Department might be approached to give this idea its favourable consideration. Once it Was given prominence in our' public schools it would not be long before adults would become familiar with the hymn, and we would hear it sung at some of our public functions.—l am, etc., A BORN NEW ZEALANDER.
