INCIDENCE OF TAXATION

Only two speeches were delivered in the House of Representatives last night, when the Financial Debate was resumed, and both were broadcast over national stations. .The first speaker was the Hon. A. Thorn (Government, Thames), who defended it on the grounds that it set out a gratifying record of social achievement and economic development, even though those on the Government benches admited that it had shortcomings.
