LONDON, August 10.

The championship committee of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews announces that the amateur championship in 1937 will be played on the Royal St. George links at Sandwich on May 24, and the open championship at Carnoustie on July 5. These dates will permit British and United States players to compete in the championships of both countries.
