NOTTS SATISFIED

OMISSION OF LARWOOD

(Received August 11, 11 a.m.) LONDON, August 10. The Notts County Cricket Club was not surprised that Harold Larwood was not included in the English team. An official of the club said, "Larwood is still troubled by his loot, and if it had not been a wet summer he would not have played as much as he has this season. If he had gone to Australia it would have been necessary to nurse him carefully, playing him only in the Tests. Even then the hard grounds might have been too much for him." The Notts Club announces that Larwood fractured a rib at the Oval on August 4 and will be unable to play for some weeks.
