MR. J. LINKLATER
SERVICES TO MANAWATU
(Special to the' "Evening ,Post.") 'PALMERSTON N., This Day. Many fine tributes were paid to Mr. J. Linklater, who represented the Manawatu electorate in Parliament for 13 years, at'a social gathering held in ,his honour at Rongotea last evening. Among those present were the Hon. A. Hamilton,- the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, Mr. W. J. Poison, M.P., and Messrs. J..A. Nash and A. Stuart, exmembers of Parliament. Mr. Linklater was presented with a canteen of silver fish knives and forks. IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT.. A weary band'of ski club members had just arrived' within the sanctuary of their mountain hut after a long, long climb up the snowy slopes. They were tired but happy. "Well, Ted," sqid the captain to .one member who had expected to be unable to make the trip on account of a cold, "you seem as fit as ever, I thought your cold would find you out." "Don't you believe it," replied Ted. "I am as good as gold, thanks to Baxter's Lung Preserver, and I have brought a bottle to keep in the hut." The others proclaimed Ted a "stout fellow," and put the bottle of "Baxters" carefully away in a locker where their first-aid, outfit was kept. "Baxter's" should always be kept handy wherever colds. or chills are likely to occur, and remember the big advantage that "Baxter's" has. Its marvellous tonic properties help a speedy recovery, removing the ill effects of. a cold, and helping to build resistance to further attacks. This rich, red warming, soothing remedy, with such a palatable flavour is more popular than ever. There is certainlyl nothing like "Baxter's." All chemists and stores sell "Baxter's" in 4s 6d,2a 6d, and Is 6d bottles.—Advt.
