DE LUXE THEATRE.
Bette Davis appears in a role quite different from those which won her the award of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as the best film actress of 1935, in "The Golden Arrow," the fast-moving comedy-drama now showing at the De Luxe Theatre. She gives a light comedy portrayal with a romantic twist, which involves also some dramatic moments. Playing opposite her is George Brent, whose role is also largely comedy, he being a shy young reporter whose chief interest is a book he is writing, but Avho finds time to fall in love with the blonde- Bette after a series of misunderstandings and flirtatious entanglements which nearly break the course of true love. The supporting featurettes are supplemented by a presentation by the Orchestra De Luxe and the Wurlitzer organ. Commencing on Friday next, Margaret Lindsay and Glenda Farrell will be seen in Warner" Bros.' "The Law in Her Hands." The picture combines' rare comedy with intense dramatic thrills. There is a swift-moving plot with dynamic and sparkling dialogue. Besides the two leading women, the cast includes Warren Hull, Lyle Talbot, Eddie, Acuff, Dick Purcell, Al-Shean, and Joseph Crehan.
