STEAM LESS DRYING
When washing cannot be dried out of doors it is worth while to try the following method of partial drying indoors (states the ''Manchester Guardian"):—Lay several folds of clean newspaper in the bottom of a clothes basket; put the wet things through the wringer two or three times, folding them differently each time so that they are squeezed as evenly and thoroughly.as possible, and then lay them in the basket with sheets of clean newspaper between every fold. Leave them overnight, and by morning the paper will have absorbed a great deal of moisture and the things will be almost ready for ironing. This method reduces the time required for indoor drying and saves the kitchen from a good deal of steam.
