Pressure of the westerly type continues t» dominate the meteorological situation; a succession of fairly Intense depressions passing over southern New Zealand. Winds between northwest aud west have prevailed,- moderate to strong generally and squally in places, especially in and south of Cook Strait. The weather has been changeable and unsettled In western and far southern districts, aud also over tha northern half of the Xortn Island, with scattered rain, while in the castarn districts soutU of East Capo it has continued to be fair ana mild. •
