BRITAIN AND ARGENTINE

NOTICE BY UNITED KINGDOM

(British Official Wireless.)

RUGBY, August 7. The Anglo-Argentine trade agree* ment of 1933 was concluded for an initial period of three years, and on May 7, 1936, the agreement became subject to termination at any tune after November 7 on the expiration of six months' notice.

In April, however, negotiations for a revision of the agreement were undertaken, and in these circumstances the two Governments agreed to reduce the period of notice, first to four months and subsequently to three months. The negotiations have not yet been brought to a conclusion, and the United Kingdom Government has now given notice to terminate the existing agreement on November 7.
