Gary Cooper as Mr. Deeds, the small-town gentleman who inherits a fortune.and is plunged headlong into the fast-moving life of New York, portrays his role with characteristic ability. Opposite him is Jean Arthur, who as a newspaper reporter first tries to play up to him in order to. gain a frontpage story concerning the "Cinderella Baby," but ultimately falls in love with him. The.-supporting players include H. B. Warner, George Bancroft, and Douglass Dumbrille.
