PLEASANT PARTIES

HERETAUNGA FLOWERS

A feature of the party given at the residence of Captain R. G. D. and Mrs. Davies at Heretaunga by Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Davies was the beautiful flowers. The party was given for Miss Marjorie Davies, and about 70 guests were entertained. "

The ballroom was fragrant with quantities of jonquils, and masses of Iceland poppies made vivid patches of colour that were most effective. In the supper-room artistic decorations were of Christmas roses, pink and blue Chinese lanterns suspended from the ceiling making a gay effect. Silver keys added much to the plan of decoration, and during" supper time the guest, of honour was handed a key of chromium tied with a large blue bow.

Mrs. A. E. Davies received the guests wearing a frock of black georgette patterned with pink roses. Mrs. R. Davies wore a frock of. midnight blue angelskin lace and georgette, and Miss Davies was in magnolia crepe satin, with flared skirt and gardenias in her hair. '
