HUTT BEAT MASTERTON
Forty members of thi Masterti Golf Club, headed by T. H. Hortc, and A. D. S. Duncan, invaded Welling* ton yesterday to play a match with the Hutt. Club; This was the- first match for the handsome shield recent-' ly presented by Mr. O. Heketa, of the Hutt Club, for matches between Hutt and Masterton. Hutt had a comfortable win yesterday, both in the fourballs and the singles, but the Masterton captain yesterday said his club hoped to take the shield in the return, match at, Masterton on September 20. Some really good golf was seen in the fourball yesterday between Horton. and Duncan, and J. L. Black and B. M. Silk,-which finished all square. Horton and Silk both covered the coursein 72, the best ball of the four being «•• J a J ,ibe singles, Horton and Black finished all square, and Arthur Duncan outplayed Silk to the tune of 3 and 2.
