SHEEP AT FEILDING
HOGGETS IN DEMAND
Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report lighter . yardings than usual in the sheep section at Friday's Feilding sale, with a heavy yarding of dairy cattle and medium pennings of fat and store cattle. The demand for both ewe and wether hoggets, also young ewes, was particularly keen, with practically a total clearance for all lots offered at auction. A medium penning of fat sheep of all classes came to hand, the market for these remaining firm at about last week's rates. Although dairy cattle again came forward in large numbers, the demand remained firm, with values approximately on a par with the previous week's rates. Owing to a lighter entry than usual of beef the demand was keen, with almost a total clearance at auction, and values firming on the previous week's rates. Odd pens of station-bred cattle sold freely at late rates.
