MESSAGE FROM MANAGER

Apart from the mention of the time recorded by J. E. Lovelock in winning the 1500 metres race at the Olympic Games, one word was used by the manager of the New Zealand team (Dr. A. E. Porritt) in reporting by,cablegram .to"the New Zealand Olympic Association upon the performance of the New Zealand representative, and it meant a lot. The cablegram from Dr. Porritt to the secretary of the New Zealand Olympic Association (Mr. H. Amos) was: "Loveloclc win superb, world's record. 3/47.8."
