LAW STUDENTS' MOOT
A meeting of the Wellington Law Students' Society was held on Wednesday evening when a moot was argued before Mlv P. B. Cooke, K.C., as on appeal from the Supreme Court. The facts as stated disclosed a' typical street accident, the appellant being the victim. Counsel argued the question whether at the present day an action for trespass will lie on such facts, although no negligence is proved. After hearing counsel Mr. Cooke, in an interesting judgment, dismissed the appeal; and having thanked counsel for the excellent manner in which they had conducted the case offered some helpful criticisms.'
Messrs. A. R. Perry and I. Thomas appeared for the appellant, and M. R. Jackson and W. L. Ellingham for the respondent. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Cooke.
