FURNITURE BOOM
SHORTAGE OF WORKMEN
(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N., This Day. An extraordinary boom in the furniture trade is reported in Palmerston North, one dealer stating that his business of the last two months has been a record for seventeen years. Another firm states that it is 160 suites behind schedule. Everywhere the supply •& smaller than the demand. It is a problem to secure enough workmen to manufacture their requirements and it is doubtful whether such a specialised person exists unemployed in Palmers--ton North today.
