WELLINGTON COLLEGE

Arrangements were made for the planting of some 300 trees on Arbor Day at Wellington College. In the presence of the assembled pupils and representatives of the Horticultural Society, and the Board of Governors, His Worship the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A*. Hislop) planted a pohutukawa tree and addressed the gathering: . . . Mr. Hislop is a distinguished old boy of the College and his remarks were listened to with much interest. The tree is marked by a fine plaque in copper executed in the school.
