AUSTRALIAN TITLES
N.Z. TEAM
The members of. the New Zealand women's golf team—Mrs. R.S. Fuller-ton-Smith (Martbn), Miss Oliver Kay (Hawera), Miss; Pat Helean (Wanganui). Miss Valmai Fleming (Christchurch), and Miss J. Horwell (Timaru) —have entered for the Australian women's national championships, which are to be decided on the Royal Adelaide links from August 24 to September 3.
Entries closed on August 25, and the names received that day, with post entries still to come, included:—
Victoria.—Mesdames Alex Russell, E. Shaw, L. N. Marriott,. Misses Betty Kernot, N. McLeash, R. McKenzie, E. M. Hutton Burtj A. Cheney, T. Widdis, Leslie Bailey, L. Cameron\ Jean Sinclair.
New Zealand.—Mrs. R. S. FullertonSmith, Misses Oliver Kay, Pat Helean, V. Fleming, J. Horwell.
Queensland.—Miss . Janet Gardener. Western Australia.—Mesdames O. J. Negus, R. J. McKissock.
New South Wales.—Mesdames R. A. Clements, R. H. Bettington, A. H. Goodall. Clive Robinson, Miss P. Stephens. South Australia.—Mesdames E. Britten Jones, J. F. Astley. E. E. Jolly, M. Ridgway, E. J. Ivy, F. E. Monfries, Misses K. Rymill, L. M. Gordon, M. Taylor, Gwen Shephard.
The championship will be played at Seaton on August 26, 27, 23, 31, and September 1 and 2.
Though the New Zealand entry is small, compared with twelve from Victoria, it would occasion no surprise if
a New Zaalander were to annex the open championship of the Commonwealth. Mrs. Guy Williams, of Masterton, won the title-at Kensington in 1920, and Miss Oliver Kay took the championship at Melbourne in 1933 The New Zealand team, while in the Commonwealth, will play Australia for the Tasman Cup.
