, (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Some jumpers gave extra interest to the work at Riccarton this morning. Half a dozen horses started for a round of the Grand National course, but it was a mixed display, one' of them (Parasang) having to be destroyed, after, breaking .his leg. Forest Glow (W. J. McDowell), High Speed (V. Langford), Nocturrius (C. G. Humphries), Cock o' the North (M. Reilly), Parasang (N. Trillo), and Burglar (E. Deslandes) started off from the nine furlongs barrier for a round of the National fences. All, went well over the sod ;Wall and the post-and-rails. Cock o'.the North then refused at the first of the kennels double, and Nocturnus jumped it badly and fell at the second leg. Cock o ' the North was tried several times at the kennels double but without success. Forest Glow and High Speed went on. from Burglar and Parasang, all jumping well till they reached Cutts's fence. The first-named three cleared it all right, but-Parasang ran into the fence and stopped. Parasang , had broken his near foreleg, the mishap having occurred about twenty yards before he reached the fence, probably through, knuckling over. N. Trillo, the rider of Parasang, was thrown. He was carried to the trainers' room, but after being examined he was found to have escaped with a shaking and he was able to walk off, the course a little later. Forest Glow knd High Speed pleased by their jumping displays, and the hunteir Burglar also went very well. . Royston (R. X.' Smith) jumped once round the schooling fences. He took off a trifle too far at the firsts though he got over safely, but he gave a fine display over the other obstacles. ... The hurdler Fiord (J. Murfitt) went well over four hurdles. Clarion Call (A. Jenkins) jumped six hurdles. He strode along at a sound pace and gave a good exhibition. Redolent (F. E. Baker) gave ah attractive display over four hurdles. M. B. Edwards came from Yaldhurst withPonty and Wino. They sprinted half a mile up the back in 50 2-ssec. It is intended to start both in the Winter Cup. \ . Polydora and Latitude ran a mile and a quarter in 2min 20sec. Southdown and Brevity sprinted half a. mile' in 52sec, time that/ was equalled by Cyclonic alone, Hororata, and Jed Forest; and Thermidor and Recollection. Sir Hugh and Orange Bud went well over five furlongs in iminSsec. Palmyra, Rousseau, and. Knockfin sprinted half a mile up the back in 52sec; Concertpitch and Cranford were'on terms after going seven furlongs in lmin 33 2-ssec, the last halfmile taking 55sec. Billy Boy and Thurina were given strong work over a mile.1' Diamond strode out freely on the sand. Rona Bay and Braw Lad ran five furlongs in lmin 10 3-ssec. Golden Dart, Queen of Song, and Boomerang were in that order at the end of seven furlongs in lniin 33 1-5 sec, the last half-mile in 53 l-ssec. Bay Duke and Greek Gold went well over five furlongs in lmin 5 3-ssec. Emis-' sary and Gayspme took 52 l-ssec for half a mile up the back. Lady Kate and Arrowgleh ran half a mile in 53 l-ssec, Rose of Tralee and Davolo taking 54 ■ 3-ssec. r Honour's Lass and Gold Cross did the last six' furlongs of their work in lmin 20sec. Polygraph and Courtyard took lmiti 19sec. Great Star, brought home by Radio Star* required 55sec for the last half-mile of six furlongs. Lady Gracer ful ran seven furlongs in lmin 34 3-5 sec.
•Arrivals from the north this morning to'fulfil engagements next week were Travelling Agent, Adalene, Jdfin Charles, and Lord. Hereford.
