FARMERS' UNION
COMPULSORY MEMBERSHIP URGED

PAHIATUA, August 4. A meeting of the executive of the Pahiatua. branch of the Farmers' Union discussed in committee industrial difficulties arising out of legislation sponsored by the Labour Government and subsequently passed the following resolution:—
"In view of the trend of recent legislation this branch urges on . the Dominion central executive the vital necessity.of taking steps to convene a special meeting of the Dominion conference with the object of establishing compulsory membership of the Farmers' Union."
