SAWDUST ROLLS TO GO
Some years ago sawdust was so cheap a "commodity" that it could be obtained almost for the cost of taking it away. . Times have chanped, s and now sawdust is apparently more valuable than the timber that it has separated from the lumber^
Sawdust roUs are to disappear at Trentham, and the aristocrats of the Turf who in future desire a roll after working will have to disport themselves in common sand. It has been found impossible to purchase sawdust within lorry range of the course—the last consignment was "carried out" from the Akatarawa- Valley—and so thfe three rolls at tlie centre are to be,come sand rolls. The old remaining sawdust-is being emptied from the I rolls this week, and sand will replace
If Billy Boy does not win the' National, he has another disappointment coming when he returns to Trentham. He took his sawdust rolling seriously. But perhaps he will be as happy as a sandboy still in the new roll if he wins another National.
