A £300 MINIMUM
AUCKLAND R.C. STAKES
(Special to the "Evening Post.") AUCKLAND. This Day.
A decision to work on the principle i of having no stake under £300 this season was made yesterday by thecommittee of the Auckland Racing Club. It is proposed to increase the stakes for the season by, £1925, and this will bo allocated as follows:—Spring Meeting, £400; Summed £1025; Autumn, £225; and Winter, £275. • The stake for the Auckland Cup has been fixed'at £1750, an increase of £250. The Clifford Plate, weight-for-age, has been1 raised!from £350 to £400.' Where any open event -was worth £300 the stake will be raised to £350. , •* .
Last season's officials were reappointed as follows:—Judge, Mr. R. B. tusk; starter, Mr. R. H. Skipworth; handicapper, Mr. F. J. McManemin; clerk of scales, Mr. H. B. Massey;' clerk of course, Mr. W. S. Hirst; recall steward Mr. P. H. Smith; starter's assistant, Mr. A. Patterson. -
