LONDON,; August 4. lle Tangier .correspondent of The Times" reports that- a German destroyer cruised off Ceuta' .under the eyes, of the Spanish loyalist fleet while the Deulschland (die "pocket battleship") entered the-port, where the rebel troops received the German admiral and escorted him to Tetuan, where he lunched; with the .rebel leader, General Franco, and- exchanged speeches, the-admiral drinking to the destruction of- the Red fleet and victory,to the nationalists.

The • "Daily Mail," in a leader; expresses the'opinion that :if. the: Communists can rely on supplies-from the Soviet their victory is inevitable.

The paper adds that "Russia's action is a European danger. It is a Challenge to Germany and Italy,"

The aeronautical correspondent of "The Times" discounts the ' rumours of the sale of British civil aircraft to Spain, and says, "A number of•■ small machines have been flying to Burgos for the collection of news.and Pre<=s photographs; while passengers have been carried into or from 'Spain, but there is no evidence that any of these aeoplanes have been secured' by the contending parties. ■ ' ■ . ■'...■"■

HOLDING THEIR OWN.

The loyalist troops report successes on the Guadarrama front but" these do not indicate that they are more than holding their' own, most of the positions captured havirig; been' previously in the possession'of'the rebels who took them from loyalists. Badajoz is asserted to be clear of insurgents.
