LONDON,. August 3. Government troops advancing on baragossa captured the town of La Zaida after a heavy aerial bombardment.

The rebels have captured Guadarrama, dominating one of the roads to Madrid,, after most intense.fighting which ended .with a bayonet charge by 2000 troops. It is stated that 800 were killed and wounded m one hour.

The rebels are planning to attack Madrid on two sides, but are handicapped Ijy shortage of ammunition. Many rebels have surrendered, stating that they have been fighting for many dayn without supplies. The Loyalists' leaders are confident that they can defeat the rebels.

It is reported that the rebels at Toledo are in a desperate plight. Food supplies are becoming short, and an intensive artillery bombardment has cut oil the water and electricity. Tha town is completely surrounded and if expected to fall at any time. FIRING IN STRAIT. The palace of the Bishop ol Gerona yielded £550,000 worth of Government bonds. Militia arrested the Bishop of Jaen as he was fleeing from the diocese with his sister and relatives. He had £30,000 in his possession, and a search of his sister's clothes revealed £22,000 worth of bonds. The Bishop and his relatives were placed in the cathedral, which has been turned into a prison.
