Weeber, and Messrs.-Bolton,*" Clark, Cooper, Garnham, R; and C. Homer, Macintosh, McNaught, Kennedy, and R. Weeber. Kindergarten Carnival at Moeia. Every variety of entertainment is being prepared-for the "monster carnival"' at Moera on Saturday in aid of the Lower Hutt Free, Kindergarten. There will be donkey rides, sideshows, every kind of stall, a fancy dress parade', and a "lucky baby" competition. The "Jane> Withers" personality competition is rousing mu-h enthusiasm in the surrounding . districts and many free photographs of competitors have been taken. Elaborate preparations promise a first-class entertainment to which admission is free. Khandallah Croquet Club. ' The annual meeting, of the Khandallah Croquet Club was held .at the residence of Mrs. C. Nalder, when the following officers were elected:—President, Mrs. C. Nalder; vice-presidents, Mrs. Sheargold, Mrs. Hendry; secretary, Miss Cowles; treasurer, " Mrs. 'Jeffreys. ' Mrs. Tindall. , and Mrs. Cooper were added.to the above to form a committee. Miss Cowles will be club captain during Mrs. Living's ab-" sence. ■ i Farewell Party at Miramar. A very cheerful gathering attended the party given on Saturday night by Mrs. F. C. Chegvjin, Mir&mar, in honour of her daughter. Miss Eileen Courtenay, who is leaving this week for Sydney where she is to take part in the vocal section of the city of Sydney Eisteddfod. Mrs. Chegwin received her/guests, wearing a black"satiri frock with velvet coatee. Miss Courlenay ' wore terracotta lace. Spring bulbs,' Iceland poppies, and huge bowls of holly decorated the reception rooms where glowing fires soon dispelled all though of the wintry conditions outside. There were some delightful singing and musical numbers during the evening, and special interest was taken in Mr. Qhegwin's diamond jubilee medal- which has been returned through the High Commissioner's Office after having been lost nearly""l 40 "years. J' "A' delicious savoury supper was served, and Miss Courtenay was the recipient of many good Wishes for her success in Australia. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. Haley, Sharpe, Foster, - Look, Brown, Miller, Roberts, Gurr, Menzies, Hoy; Misses P. Murray, E. Duncan, G. Potter, M. Beveridge, E. Roberts, and Messrs. Carpenter, Beveridge. Courtenay, 'Marsack, Mclntyre, > Clee, Matthews, and Wood.
