CLESSAMOR WELL

KAOLA HAS A CHANGE

(Special from "Hurry On.")

NEW, PLYMOUTH, August 3.

Conditions were unpleasant for training :■ operations at New Plymouth on Saturday morning. A bitterly cold south wind was..blowing and snow fell at intervals. All the galloping took place on the course proper, with the flags out about ■ 30ft.

Fersen and Brilliancy ran half a mile before breakfast, both moving well. Calshot strode away from Carleaf at the conclusion of half a mile in 54 l-sscC Calshot moved evenly throughout, but Carleaf stopped bad-

Ciessamor was going better than High Test at the end of five furlongs in lmin 7Jsec. Ciessamor carried out his task in workmanlike fashion. He is giving every indication of being a much-improved horse this season. There was little between Ngatirahiri and Winsome Lv over three furlongs in 41isec. As the pair had the gale in their faces nearly all the way this was a better effort than the time indicated.

Bonny Glow and Kyra separately were sent once round at halfpace and sprinted up the straight. Aussie Ra and :Davistock were always going nicely to cover half a mile in 56Jsec. Both hit out in a pleasing fashion. Script jumped four schooling hurdles in faultless fashion.

S. 'E. Cleaver, who for many years has trained at Waverley, has recently acquired a property, at New Plymouth and will be bringing Kaola and Don Erma up during the next few days.
