WRECKAGE FOUND

NO SIGN OF OCCUPANTS

(Received August 3, 10 a.m.)

LONDON, August 2.

A message from Jersey states that searching aeroplanes discovered the wreckage of an aeroplane on Minquier Reef, due south of Jersey. There was no sign of the occupants. A Cherbourg message states that a French flying-boat located an aluminium float which is believed to be part of the missing airliner.

It was reported on Saturday that an aeroplane carrying eight passengers, pilot, and wireless operator, was missing off the Channel Islands. The machine left Guernsey in bad weather at 11 p.m. on July 31 and was due in Jersey in 20 minutes.
